This beautiful blend is an alchemy of the different paths our lives have taken. As an homage to co-founder Tom's upbringing in South Africa, where he connected with the local wild plants and particularly honeybush, blended with the vibrancy of his time in Sri Lanka to create an unique caffeine free Chai experience. 

Sensations: This wild-harvested honeybush blend has a bold, floral and honey-like aroma that compliments our Sri Lankan grown chai spices to warm you from within. It is also caffeine free and can be enjoyed at any time of the day or night. 

Ingredient spotlight: 

Honeybush - falling under the Cyclopia genus of plants, is indigenous to the Cape Floristic Region of South Africa. These sweet bushes have a long history of use by the Khoi and San people who revered its use for immuno-supporting properties and respiratory health. Antioxidants are responsible for everything from reducing signs of aging on the skin and supporting immune function to removing toxins.

This caffeine-free tea is produced by fermenting the plant and like Rooibos (red bush) has a uniquely sweet aroma and taste with amber tones when brewed, packed with antioxidant and antimicrobial compounds.

Ingredients: Wild-harvested honeybush* (60%), Ceylon cinnamon*, ginger*, cardamom*, aniseed* and black pepper*. (*certified organic ingredients). Caffeine-free & Sugar-free.

Taste without compromise: We sourced this sustainably wild-harvested honeybush from the Langkloof valley in South Africa from farmers who are dedicated to protect the critical biodiversity in this area, and we blended this with organic spices grown in small community food-forests in Sri Lanka. Our partners, who we've worked with since 2014, use a regenerative farming practice called forest gardening to protect the natural biodiversity and soil health of the ecosystem. The care, combined with the warm, wet climate, provide the perfect conditions to grow highly nutritious spices. 

Preparation: 1tsp of Honeybush Chai per cup. Using freshly boiled water, allow to steep for between 3-5 minutes, depending on your desired strength and add (plant) milk to taste. Or for a more wholesome brew, bring to boil in 220ml of (plant) milk and gently simmer for 5 minutes. Drink mindfully for the full experience.
