Tea Tree is a time-tested tonic, a natural alternative to synthetic skin cleansers and toners. Steam distilled in the Australian bush from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, also known as the Narrow Leaf Paperbark Tree, a native Australian tree that has been used by indigenous Aborigines for centuries.
In ancient Australia, the crushed leaves of the Tea Tree were inhaled to expand the chest and bless the breath. The Bundjalung people steeped the leaves in a pungent liquid to make an elixir for everything. One of our favorite modern uses is in Happy Gum Drops to make the mouth and breath smell sweet and fresh.
